Legal Observer Training
National Lawyers Guild Sacramento provides training to those wishing to serve as legal observers in support of social justice activists. Legal Observer training is designed for guild members and allies who have a degree of legal training or special legal knowledge to begin with and are looking to utilize that skill set to benefit activists on the ground. Legal observing involves the monitoring of law enforcement at activist events, the tracking of arrests, and sometimes assistance with criminal defense or civil suits arising from the events themselves. The purpose of the LO program is to keep law enforcement honest and to provide moral and legal support to activists across the progressive and radically liberal spectrum. If you or your organization is interested in more information or in scheduling an LO training, please fill out the contact form on this website.
